Meet Lynnda Rakos
Creative Illustrator
I’ve been drawing characters, animals, and little worlds for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Montreal, I was surrounded by color, pattern, and creativity, which naturally led me to art school and then into a career in fashion design. Working in fashion sharpened my eye for shape, pattern, and storytelling through surface design—skills that now live at the heart of my illustration work.
Today I’m an artist and illustrator based in Los Angeles, creating vibrant, playful art that blends retro charm with bold color and a sense of nostalgia. I’m especially drawn to mid‑century design, vintage patterns, cozy interiors, and expressive animals. My pieces often feel like snapshots from a story—inviting you into a moment that’s warm, whimsical, and just a little bit magical.
Whether I’m designing for children’s products, editorial projects, licensing collections, or personal pieces, my goal is always the same: to spark joy, curiosity, and a sense of wonder in everyday life. I love building worlds that feel familiar yet fantastical—places where you can almost hear the characters talking, smell the coffee, or feel the sunshine on a windowsill.
When I’m not drawing, you can usually find me treasure‑hunting for vintage inspiration, people‑watching in a café, or sketching ideas that turn into my next collection.
If you’re an art director or brand looking for colorful, character‑driven artwork with a nostalgic twist, I’d love to connect and see how we can create something delightful together.
